FutureQuake 2020 Winter sees the team at FQP attempt to reset the year! This issue features 19 strips, all covered in a stunning image by Kaydee Artistry.
Hey there everyone, this is a gentle reminder that the current window for script submissions for FutureQuake & Something Wicked closes next Monday, 31st August.
We have a wealth of new scripts to be read and the standard is as good as we hoped it would be.
Thanks again to all those who have sent scripts and are still waiting for feedback — we ARE reading scripts everyday.
FQP are pleased to announce that from today, June 3rd to August 31st they are open to new scripts.
FQP titles FutureQuake and Something Wicked are two premiere level titles with a focus on new talent & developing talent and a proven track record in help new creatives hone their skills. Scripts are being welcomed for both titles- script length of ideally 4-6 pages with a ‘twist’ in the tail.
The 2000 AD fanzines Dogbreath & Zarjaz are still open to scripts so there is room for writers of all levels to contribute.
Note that all scripts will be read in the order received and only short stories are being sought. FQP do not publish serials or complete graphic novels.
If accepted, writers will be informed of the next steps towards getting the script commissioned and turned into a comic strip.
Currently both titles can accommodate around 40 strips a year, so it may be that scripts have a significant delay between acceptance and commission. If that is an issue to you, keep in touch with editorial to see where you are in the lists.

Word has reached us via writer Emmet O’Cuana that Matinee, the short created by him and artist David Parsons has reached the finals of the 2019 Australian Shadows Awards!

Here’s a thing! Two of my favourite creators for FQP have gotten together and produced a comic of their very own!
FABLES OF FEAR is by writer Karl Brandt and artist David Parsons – both of whom have produced many strips for FQP over the years but now they are working together!
Available from comiXology the book contains 3, full colour tales, including a new version of Jotun Fury from Something Wicked 2017.
Hightly recommended, this slim volume hopefully showcases the start of something more to come!

True Believers 2020 is this Saturday, at the Jury’s Inn in Cheltenham. Tickets look to be £8.00 in advance and £10.00 on the day.
